_IAM_Oiseau
Hi I'm looking for a adjustable scissor mic stand for a Rode NT1-A. The kind that has a clamp that can be attached to a desk. I don't want to pay £60 for the official Røde arm but am concerned that some of the cheaper stands won't be able to hold the combined weight of microphone (326g) and shock mount (390g).  I believe the shock mount for the Rode needs a 5/8 thread Official Rode arm https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001D7UYBO/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_i_ZYYFEbZ8DXTW4 Cheap version supports up to 1kg https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00DY1F2CS/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_i_mYYFEb3YNVKHM Any recommendations for what boom arm I should buy?
opentype
What do you want to do with it? I have the RØDE PSA1 and like it, but I bought it for recording myself speaking on the desk for YouTube videos. I wouldn’t pick this type of stand for Smule singing because I also share your concern about these type of stands and the way they they react to different weights. You can’t go wrong with simple boom stands though. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=microphone+boom+stand
_IAM_Oiseau
thanks for replying. I want to mostly use it for Smule singing but also for recording instruments. I was hoping someone might know of a desk mounted mic stand that was stronger than the super cheap ones but cheaper than the Rode one. I'll check out your link. Thank you. I'm trying to avoid a traditional mic stand as they need more floor space which is at a premium in my office Many thanks

Another option in this case would be short stands, which you can put on your desk and which come with a boom or without. I have one of those as well with a heavy base plate, so weight is no problem at all.
