I recently made an OC on Smule and so far 5 people have joined it, but then when others tried to join (including myself) they get this recording disabled message:

"This recording has been disabled for licensing reasons. If you have any questions, please contact support@smule.com"

I've emailed support@smule.com but "it may take up to 72 hrs for a response" lol, not urgent I guess, but if anyone can shed some light on this now that would be appreciated.

Just curious.

It means the song was uploaded to Smule without the permission of the intellectual property owner and they requested to have the song deleted from the platform.

So it means anyone can logged a request to disable someones Uploads without any formal investigation.. I'm talking about my case.. I have a couple of uploads that has been disabled without prior notification from Smule support..You need to consider the money I spent, time, effort to have these songs uploaded coz I buy the backing tracks online. NOT FAIR..

If you buy karaoke tracks online, they are almost certainly for private use. You have no right to republish them online, which is what you do when you upload them to Smule.
