Adding Lyrics in Freestyle duet/group mode

I've been using Smule for the last year and a half now. I only used Freestyle once in solo mode. I am trying to figure out how I can create a Freestyle duet/or group and add/arrange the lyrics to it. Is that even possible?

Hm. I don't think there's a way to add lyrics to Smule's freestyle mode.

I've never tried this, and just thinking through it here...

Perhaps you can create a silent mp3 file in Garage Band or other audio program that's the length of whatever the song you want to record.

Then, you can upload that track and add lyrics and part it out like you would a regular song upload with parts for duet or group. However, since there's no audio, you'd have to time it out really well. This also means that this particular 'Freestyle' track really can only be used for that one song, and you'd have to do the whole process over again in case you wanted to record another song in the same manner.

I'm also not clear if Smule would detect if it's a blank audio track or not...
