  • Bubbles and Fireflies – Smule released the Sing! app version 6.1.9

Version 6.1.9 of the Sing! app for iOS brings changes in two areas:

    1. New Video Filter options

The video filters introduced recently get a new setting for additional effects. In addition to the color setting you can now also add bubbles to the Rio style, fireflies to the Oslo style or dramatic fog to the Petra style. For each effect you can set the strength to one of four options (off, weak, stronger, maximum).

    2. New Playback Screen

The screen to watch performances inside the iOS app has been redesigned. The video or cover image (for audio performances) now fills the entire upper half on iPhones and iPods without the need to manually push the controls down. In addition, recent comments and likes are now shown by just scrolling down.

It's wonderful that the new animated features of introducing bubbles, fireflies and fog looks cool on us while playback. Also, the video viewing and comments section modifications are also super appreciable enhancements.

But one thing I was so annoyed(may be for the very first time with Smule App) was the audio-recording-playback change (enhancement as they put it). The recent version update made the microphone so sensitive that the slightest breath that you take sounds as an awkward blow at the playback and same at the output. :(:( I was very disappointed and wrote to the support and there is no exact fix to this issue. I would want to know if nobody had this issue with the recent version update???

It’s certainly a bug and (probably) millions are affected. We just have to wait for the next update as will similar problems in the past.

IKR. And until the next update is out I wanted to back update (rollback) to the previous version. Yes, I am ready to give away new video filter features as singing/recording/playback is the main agenda. :( Any ideas of rolling back to previous version on a iPad?

    TIA.
